My last post was made at the end of a week off following an ME crash. After the weekend things did not get better so on the Monday I got a fitnote from the Doctor saying I was not fit for work for 2 weeks. That came and went – and I started back to work on Monday 16th October 2023.
It’s been a hard week – and I’ve not been able to focus on things that well. Wednesday was a staff development day and I had to go home at lunchtime as I was on the verge of another crash. I realised the day was going to be hard so I didn’t drive to the office that day. When I drive in – I have to part a good 10-15 mins walk away – which sometimes is actually nice. However being just back at work – and really not THAT much better than the previous week – I thought that may start the day badly. I also new that I would not be feeling good at the end of the day and the last thing I wanted was a 15 min walk back uphill when I could hardly stand up straight! Because of that I got a taxi into work – and then another one picked me up at lunchtime.
At the moment – I am struggling badly to get my work done. Similar to how I was before the week away (that was a disaster!). If I am at or close to breaking point when I have just gone back to work…. how long can I keep this up??
How was my day today?
As a very quick visual guide to how my day has been with regard to fatigue, pain, and cognitive dysfunction, I have expressed these as simple lines representing percentages. From 0 meaning no effect, to 100 meaning maximum affect on my day.
Fatigue
- Background 40%
- Peak 80%
Pain
- Background 25%
- Peak 60%
Cognitive Dysfunction
