It’s 10:52am and so far it’s not been a great end to the week. In fact it’s not been a great week.

I have managed to get some things done – but one day I was too unwell to work, and at the moment I am battling fairly severe FibroFog. Every word is a struggle as I have to concentrate on which letter comes next. I suspect this will be a brief post!

For the past week I have struggled with worse than usual sleep either interrupted several times during the night – or simply waking up at 2am and not being able to get back to sleep. That’s what happened on Monday – In bed at 9, settled down by 10:30 and awake again by 2 and not able to get back to sleep. I took Tuesday off realising that if I tried to push myself to work on Tuesday I would be ill for a week or two.

Like always its attempting to head of the worst before it gets to me. Twice so far this week I have had to have a nap during the day – and in fact I plan to do the same once I’ve written this post.

Twice this week I have had a sudden massive drop in energy levels while doing things like walking round ASDA. During these times I have had to just sit down and let someone else check the shopping out for me. I’ve also partially lost the power of speech and sound like a drunk man slurring speech. My speech is slow and laboured so I can find the next word – or even think what I want to say as my brain is wading though treacle at the same time.

It’s very frustrating!

How was This Week?

As a very quick visual guide to how my day has been with regard to fatigue, pain, and cognitive dysfunction, I have expressed these as simple lines representing percentages.  From 0 meaning no effect, to 100 meaning maximum affect on my day.

Fatigue

  • Background 50% 50%
  • Peak 80% 80%

Pain

  • Background 30% 30%
  • Peak 50% 50%

Cognitive Dysfunction
